I usually have something clever to say to introduce the Newsletter, but quite frankly, I am exhausted from this year already. And, it is only March. I hope you all are doing better than I am. LOL
3/5/20 Retrograde Mercury re-enters Aquarius:
Time for a little reminder from last month’s Newsletter.
While many believe the Mercury retrograde phase is a bothersome event, I believe that the Mercury retrograde is an opportunity to communicate with ourselves. The energy of any planet retrograde is turned inward, on self. These phases are for self-examination and realization. Mercury retrograde is an opportunity to communicate with ourselves on some very deep levels. The energy is available to all of us to reach a profound understanding of ourselves, our motives, and to refine our goals. We can also use this energy for deeper understanding and comprehension, which can allow us to make subtle alterations in our lives. It goes without saying, that the more we come to understand ourselves, the fuller our lives become. Mercury Retrograde is not a catastrophic event, it is a moment in time to listen to our own inner voice of reason.
3/6 Venus enters Taurus [ruler]: Venus in Taurus produces a practical, stable, and constant persona. The approach to love and romance is simple and direct. Sincerity becomes more attractive and often irresistible at this time. Love is taken seriously and with careful consideration.
There is an attraction to the luxuries of life, and often a tendency to overindulge in sensual pleasures. During this time, there may be a weakness for good food, good wine, fine furnishings and clothes, and many more objects and activities that delight the senses. The best of everything will be desired if you can figure a way to afford it all.
This time may also bring bouts of jealous and overbearing behavior with a mate. It can bring out a very possessive and jealous nature if emotional security is threatened.
3/10/20 Mercury goes Direct in Aquarius:
Mercury going Direct should bring a heavy sigh of relief to many. Computers will speed up, checks will arrive on time, traffic should be less frustrating, and most importantly you’ll begin to remember that you’re not crazy after all. J
3/17/20 Mercury re-enters Pisces [Direct Motion]: In Pisces, Mercury produces a mind that is receptive and ruled by feelings. The thinking is colored by psychic tendencies, and this is a time to listen to one’s own instincts rather than any pure logic or reason. In a way, during this transit the whole world is psychic to some degree or another, and, more importantly, aware of it. These instincts should be validated for those that doubt their own sense of “knowing”. During this transit, people are frequently too sensitive and too easily hurt, becoming moody and sometimes depressed [especially those with Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Pisces].
3/21 Sun enters Aries [Beginning of Spring]: One of the primary characteristics of a Sun in Aries is self-determination, and I don’t mean that in any light-hearted way.
Aries possess the natural ability to be self-motivated with excessive amounts of energy, which will be required to achieve the goals desired. . They tend to not ask for help in life, and consider most assistance to merely be slowing them down. Reckless and rash in almost all they do, they have an uncanny ability to survive most of the mis-adventures they encounter in life. Much to the surprise of others, and even the Aries. Always aware that life is a “great adventure” even the mishaps can be handled with an attitude of “oh well” I’ll just do this now.
Aries are often called the children of the Zodiac because Aries requires Courage to ACT. Well, it’s easy to be courageous when you are a child (at heart also) because you fear nothing, because you have suffered no consequences for your actions–yet. Everything is a great adventure for an Aries. Everything is new, and the curiosity that a child has for each new step, is the same element that resides in the heart and soul of an Aries. Even when consequences deter an Aries, they simply consider it a challenge and press on. It is the mandate of the sign to always “press on”.
Aries is one of the Fire signs, meaning it is a sign of inspiration, self-motivating, and future oriented. Its quality is Cardinal, meaning it is a sign of initiation, goal oriented and restless. Aries is the positive polarity or yang of the Zodiac. Those born with their Sun in Aries are considered to be self-expressive and out-going.
Aries is the emergence of the sprouting seed. It is the point of all beginnings. Aries is the out rushing force, sound and fury, primitive self-expression, and the joy of being. Its forcefulness is much like the Ram, which lowers its head and blindly charges. The Aries influence gives an adventurous, pioneering spirit, courage, and a blunt and direct manner. The forcefulness of Aries is so strong that restrictions cannot be endured. Aries people are forever moving on to new projects, seldom completing the old ones. An Aries person inhibited by daily routine and a sedentary life is likely to eventually explode. The ‘me first’ attitude of Aries can go to extremes of crudeness, selfishness, egotistical attitudes and foolhardiness, if it is not tempered by sensitivity to others and strong guiding ideals.
One strong note here on the tendency for an Aries to leave projects before they are completed. Aries are not meant to complete projects. It is not their mandate to build ideas into reality. Let me explain. Each sign has a talent or gift. I call it a mandate. The mandate being at the core of the sign and its expression. Aries are the sign of inspiration, ideas, bold action, etc. It is their gift. Their talent. If you need a solution to a problem—ask an Aries. They will come up with an idea that solves your predicament. But, do not expect an Aries to help you make it a reality. That is not their gift. They are on to the next idea, and the next, and the next. It is their job to keep moving, always moving to inspire others, and to quite frankly, come up with good ideas.
I’m not saying an Aries never completes a project, but the percentage of completed projects is not exceptionally high. That’s not their mandate. That is the mandate of a Taurus. The mandate of an Aries is to have bold ideas, to initiate action, to prompt others to move into the future, and to be brave enough to actually push into the future when others are afraid.
Courage is their gift. The Courage to go out on a limb alone and do what needs to be done. It is not their job to finish. It is their job to keep moving, discovering, innovating, and inspiring the actions of others. The downside of this is that they seldom get to see their ideas become a reality. They have moved on to another idea in another place. They have moved on long before any concrete idea is brought to fruition.
This is an Aries and all these attributes are present as Spring begins. It’s a time of great energy and adventure. Enjoy!
3/23 Saturn enters Aquarius: This is a major planet transit, and Saturn will be in Aquarius the following dates:
March 21-July 1, 2020
December 17, 2020-March 7, 2023
Saturn’s transit through Aquarius from March 21 to July 1 is a preview of a longer cycle. On December 17, 2020, the structured planet settles back into Aquarius until March 7, 2023, opening up a two-year window for progress.
Aquarius is the eclectic and crazy scientist of the zodiac, a sign that pulls off the paradoxical feat of being rational and idealistic at the same time. And while the process-driven Saturn’s style may seem at odds with the laid back Aquarius, Saturn was actually Aquarius’ ancient ruler, before Uranus was discovered. Saturn feels right at home in Aquarius, and that means nothing is impossible in 2020. [Well, except for pesky Pluto.]
Can we all get along? Well, regardless of our differing views, we will have to write some new rules for how to share this planet.
Saturn rules time, and in contemporary astrology, is known as the Lord of Karma. Wherever he lands, chickens come home to roost. While in Capricorn, Saturn has exposed the shadow side of nationalism, mass consumerism and authoritarian world leadership. Can Saturn in Aquarius serve up a solution from left field? Don’t count a solution out, but a lot has ot happen before we can go back to peaceful co-existence, and the sign of Aquarius demands that we either come up with a solution, or there will be rebellion on many levels. Saturn protects the existing structure and institutions, but Aquarius will tear it all down when structure and endurance turn into abuses of power. Aquarius demands progress and will not tolerate abusive power for any length of time. This is not just on a political and geo-political level, but a personal one as well. As the Saturn conjunct Pluto aspects re-wire the seats of power, they also re-wire our own personal power.
During this year, we may see such extreme changes in the strong holds of power that we might not recognize our own world come 2021.
3/30/20 Mercury leaves its post-retrograde shadow: This will not be important to everyone. It will be significant if you are a Virgo or a Gemini OR you have your Mercury Retrograde in your own Natal Chart. Basically what it means is that the post Retrograde affects don’t completely dissipate until now. It does NOT mean that for some people Mercury is still Retrograde. It isn’t. It means that some people are more sensitive to the transits of Mercury and will not feel completely out from under the Retrograde until March 30th.
3/27/20-4/10/20 Mars conjunct Saturn: Using a 3-degree orb these two planets will be echoes of one another over the above time span.
All of the effects of this conjunction and the manifestations will of course depend on the house this conjunction lands in. But that said, generally, this aspect can bring to fore an extremely aggressive and brutal compulsion to achieve your desires, or give the stamina and patience to complete the hardest of tasks. Natal aspects can play their part but much depends on how you approach this transit and use the initial energy. Mars provides the energy, and Saturn provides the endurance and focus. Using them to create a positive result is important this year. As stated previously, this is not the year to tempt fate.
Initially, as the transit approaches there is a tendency towards anger, frustration, resentment, or revenge. If you direct this energy into hard physical work, or a creative project then you will direct this energy into positive and productive results.
This conjunction really demands we all make a choice. Are we going to ‘do nothing’ and let it beat us up? Or, are we going to take control and do what has to be done to achieve our goals? The choice is yours, but remember, no choice IS a choice this year, and with this conjunction in particular. Going with the flow and not taking the initiative will allow frustration to build to a dangerous level. This destructive energy could then manifest as risky actions due to impatience.
On the other hand, this negative energy could also manifest through another person’s destructive action toward you, such as nastiness or violence. Remember this is an “instant Karma’ kind of year, and during this transit what we have sown during the first months of this year, could result in negativity coming back to bite us in the ‘you know what’. Experiencing some negativity and brutality from others could be a signal to be kinder in your own dealings. Avoid retribution in all of its forms. This is not the time for that. Real self-evaluation regarding our own morality and conduct is paramount.
3/31 Mars enters Aquarius: Ordinarily, quick acting Mars meeting impulsive Aquarius would bring unpredictable results. I say ordinarily because as Mars enters Aquarius it runs right into Saturn, which puts up a stop sign that reads ‘Proceed with caution”.
This conjunction isn’t the best, and involving the two malefics doesn’t make it any better. Here, two completely different energies meet and battle for expression. Generally, Saturn being the more dignified would ultimately express caution over Mars, but Aquarius is such a freedom loving sign, that Mars actually does quite well here. I don’t mean that Mars can erase the cautious influence of Saturn, but the two planets can work together to put action into some practical application. In short, build something that will endure.
This is a time to put well-reasoned plans into action. It is not a time to act recklessly or to ask others to trust your instincts. Trust your own instincts if you wish, but don’t expect others to do so. It’s asking too much during this Mars transit.
3/10/20-8/2/20 Jupiter Conjunct Pluto: Using a 3-degree orb these planets will play cat and mouse for the next 5 months. Trust me when I say, you will feel it.
The combination of Jupiter and Pluto can incite extreme ambition for personal power, yet their transit through Capricorn along with Mars and Saturn means that we will need to adjust aspirations to contend with the limitations we face concerning material resources and available time and space. The difficulties or crises we endure will bring revisions in what needs to be nurtured and developed, and what needs to be shed and let go.
Because Jupiter expands anything it touches, power and the abuse of power will also be expanded. Depending on how you handle power itself will dictate the results of your efforts. This is a karmic year of sorts, and doing the right thing matters. If you are kind and ethical, Jupiter will bring kindness and moral results. If you act in a ruthless, extreme, self-righteous or obsessive way you are likely to face powerful forces acting against you. This could include trouble from superiors, government authorities, or the law.
This could be a time of large-scale achievement and success that makes you happy and content well into the future, if you conduct yourself ethically and morally. You face various forms of destruction if you act immorally and unethically. This is not the year to tempt fate. Remember that.
See you all next month, and I promise to get that Newsletter up in time. I’d use the excuse that Mercury is Retrograde regarding March, but I really just had a difficult time forming my thoughts on some of these transits and aspects, and yes, I know that is Mercury Retrograde, but I am still sorry for the delay.
