This month is pretty basic for transits, and there are no major events occurring. It bodes well for the end of summer and the beginning of fall. Wrapping up summer activities and projects and getting ready for the upcoming holidays, etc.
So, here we go…
9/15/19 Mercury enters Libra: Mercury is so often misunderstood as to influence and purpose. It represents more than mere communication, it also represents the neutrality of the messenger. In both Roman and Greek mythology, Mercury [Hermes] was the androgynous god of the mind and communications. This god when astrologically in the sign of Libra is the god of harmonious exchanges.
Libra is a cardinal sign, and therefore an initiating [begins a season] sign. It is an air sign, signifying our connectedness to one another on the mental plane. Libra is associated with the part of us that wants to bond, see people find common ground, and find a way to agree and ultimately accept one another even while we know there are areas of disagreement. Libra represents such descriptive words as; relationships, marriage, romance, charm, harmony, balance, partnerships, appreciation, justice, and beauty. Oddly enough, Libra also can represent war when all else fails.
After a long summer of not so harmonious communication between self and others, and even self to self, we may in fact find ourselves at a pleasant impasse in the month of September. Enjoy it. It’s a time to believe that people can talk things over and get along. We all need to have a little faith every once in a while.
With Mercury in this airy sign our ‘thoughts’ may become lighter and focused on the other rather than the self. The energy needs expression through balanced one on one communications. While the sign of Libra may make Mercury a bit more charming with others, there is still a beautiful thought process that expresses itself for personal enjoyment.
9/15/19 Venus enters Libra [Ruler] The Moon in Aries is opposite Venus and the Mercury at the moment of the transit. It could add an element of excitement to the Venus and Mercury transits in Libra, OR contention and conflict. It’ll probably be both, maybe even at the same moment in time.
Ordinarily this is a really nice transit and favorable for peace and harmony. But, the Moon in Aries [opposite] will put an edge on it. Less cooperation and harmony for a little more willfulness. Even though the Moon will quickly move along to another sign, the transits of Mercury and Venus through Libra will remain influenced by the Moon in Aries at the moment of transit. It’s a thing in astrology. Any event will have the qualities and circumstances of that particular moment in time.
9/18/19 Saturn goes Direct in Capricorn [Ruler]: Saturn is retrograde and direct for approximately the same amount of time every year. This year Saturn was retrograde from April 30th, 2019 to September 18th, 2019. Saturn will be direct from September 18th to May 11th 2020. This is par for the course for Saturn. This particular cycle is a little more important because Saturn will make a sign change during the upcoming direct cycle.
Saturn takes approximately 2 ½ years to transit a sign, but often when a sign change occurs, it gets caught up in a retrograde phase and will re-enter the previous sign for the retrograde cycle. This is important because it means it will cross the cusp of Aquarius at least twice, making the transit more dramatic, especially for anyone with natal planets at that cusp, or in aspect to the cusp.
The dates for the upcoming Saturn cycle look like this:
Saturn goes direct – 9/18/19
Saturn enters Aquarius 3/23/20
Saturn goes retrograde 5/11/20
Saturn re-enters Capricorn 7/2/20
Saturn goes direct on 9/29/20
Saturn re-enters Aquarius [finally for good] on 12/18/20
*Saturn enters Pisces 3/8/23*
Basically, all you really need to know about Saturn is that the Direct cycle is all about what we do [good or bad], and the Retrograde phase is all about what we learn from the consequences of what we have done. Over all, never forget that Saturn is the Lord of Karma, and he is merciless when it comes to consequences and the failure to take responsibility. It’s a Saturn thing. Proceed with caution.
9/24/19 Sun enters Libra [First day of Fall]: The ruler of Libra is Venus, and its glyph represents the balance of the scales. Its meaning is equilibrium and justice. Considered the sign of cosmic reciprocity, of cooperation rather than competition, of consciousness made objective through associations and partnerships. The basic Libran nature is diplomatic and charming. Libras have an idealistic and generally peace loving nature. They are easygoing and sociable, in general.
Libras are gifted with
a strong sense of justice and fair play, and have fine analytical abilities.
They are known to be objective and impartial in making judgment calls. They do
not suffer fools gladly. They are more interested in making friends than enemies,
are willing to go along to get along, and therefore will usually do whatever it
takes to maintain a relationship.
Librans are sensitive to others and understand the
emotional needs of their associates. They are optimistic and cheerful people
and have an ability to charm and delight their friends and acquaintances. Very
sociable, they abhor cruel or vicious actions, and shy away from vulgar and
offensive behavior. They dislike scenes, and will often go out of their way to
avoid conflict. They prefer to cooperate and compromise, and will give up, even
when they feel they are in the right, rather than put up with the ordeal of an
argument. They need and want harmony in their lives, and will do whatever it
takes to have it. Librans are not loners, and do better in partnership both in
their personal, and in their business life.
Librans can be surprisingly energetic in the areas
that move them, and indifferent to everything else. They are happiest when
socializing, and at the top of their social strata. You will find many Librans
in local organizations volunteering their time and services and rising to a
position of prominence.
That does it for the month of September. Once again I want to thank everyone for your continued support. It means a great deal to me!
