On March 7th of this year [2019] Uranus finally entered Taurus for good, and will remain there for the next 7 years, leaving Aries behind and mostly slowing down the pace of Uranus. Aries is the sign of action, and Taurus is a sign of building, stability, and determination. We’re in for a completely different ride these next 7 years when it comes to Uranus.
Uranus is the planet of revolution and revolts against abuses of power. It is the unexpected, and it always produces change. Uranus does not necessarily produce a negative change, nor is it always positive, but it is always an abrupt change.
It’s a generational planet that takes 84 years to make a complete journey through all the signs of the Zodiac. It is associated with electricity, lightening, and wild weather. It represents genius, brilliance, and lightning flashes of inspiration. It seeks freedom and independence at all cost. It is the planet that seeks humanitarian progress.
It can be extremely destructive and rebellious, but its effects are ultimately designed to help us change and grow – fast! Uranus is the planet that helps us free ourselves from old habits, institutions, traditions, and in the process free ourselves from the past. Letting go of the past is the only way we can really grow, and Uranus provides the energy to do this. [Of course since we’re talking Astrology the Placement of Uranus in an individual chart will always be a little more complex, and I won’t address all the different Houses Uranus in Taurus could fall into here. Perhaps a Part two later, this article was already too long.]
Uranus has a knack for electronics, mechanics, aeronautics, and anything high tech. Uranus seeks to be free and seeks to move into the future, a future that allows maximum freedom. Make no mistake, Uranus is “Progressive”, while it is Saturn that is considered Conservative. I’m using these in both a astrological context and a political one.
Freedom is the ultimate goal of Uranus regardless of where it is placed. This is the basic fact I want everyone to grasp. Freedom is, and always be, the ultimate purpose of Uranus. Placed recently in Aries, Uranus wanted to be free FAST, while now in Taurus Uranus will seek Freedom at a slower pace because Taurus is a slower more practical Earth sign. Sign placement will modify the kind of freedom and the pace, but nothing will alter the desire of the planet for freedom and independence.
Uranus is a maverick, and some easy referential concepts are, futuristic, visionary, Astrology [yes, Uranus rules astrology], inventors, discoveries, and miracles.
In Taurus, all the areas Taurus rules will be up for change. This is the essence of Uranus in any sign–change. The areas of Taurus are personal money, resources, possessions, jewelry, fashion, beauty, and our responses to beauty. Additionally, culture, arts, music, sculpture, etc.. All these areas are in for changes during the transit.
This transit could bring earthquakes around the world because Taurus is an Earth sign. Will also bring special solutions for cleaning up the planet. Money, banking, and financial centers will be hit with dramatic shifts in income. Since Uranus seeks freedom and Taurus rules money there could be a calls for financial liberation in earnest.
Uranus in Taurus will push us to free ourselves from excessive possessions, and our attachments to them. In the negative, borrowing may increase and cause the economy to drop into a recession.
Taurus rules the throat, and while transiting here Uranus could bring new discoveries and medicine for treating throat ailments.
Basically we are looking at our traditions being upset in an effort to tear us away from the past. This is an important point as Taurus also rules what we value, which means Uranus in Taurus will upset, change, re-arrange, or destroy the traditions we value most.
Some of this is just basic Uranus/Taurus stuff. I suppose you could do a search and find equally good descriptions, or even better. The following is a description of the events that occurred when Uranus was in Taurus previously. Yes, I know some of these dates pre-date the discovery of Uranus, but we all know Uranus was there even if astrologers didn’t know it. It had its effects on history.
This is actually my favorite kind of research to do. I did it when Pluto went into Capricorn in 2008. https://www.astrocait.com/pluto-in-capricorn-empire-killer-by-catherine-hill/ and was overwhelmed with what I learned then. I decided to do the same thing with Uranus since it is a major sign change. I’m going to do these in ascending order and bring us to the present at the end of this section.
As I looked at historical events during these periods, I concentrated on the areas Uranus and Taurus would rule. This is of course not a complete list of all the events in these time frames.

Well, we only have less than one year of events to looks at, but there is a lot to look at in just this limited amount of time, and we can make a few astrologically educated predictions.
Remembering that Uranus in Taurus can bring “wild weather”, even a cursory look at 2019 illustrates the problems with climate change. The Earth [Taurus] is changing each and every day due to climate change [Uranus] and this trend will continue for the next 7 years. It is not going to suddenly get better. It could bring sudden weather anomalies. Think snow in summer, heat in winter kinds of weather in different locals.

There was so much information throughout the world about the rise of right wing extremism, that it was too much to list out in this article, I’ve included some excerpts from these articles to be concise. I encourage everyone to follow the links to the articles and read them. This is an international problem, that historically does not turn out very well for we humans.
“It is a common misconception that international Islamic extremism is currently the biggest terrorist threat to our country. The truth is that domestic right-wing extremists have been more active and deadly, since 9/11. As of 2017 in the U.S., there are 130 active Ku Klux Klan groups, 663 militia groups, and 99 neo-Nazi groups. Some of the different ideologies, which will be discussed later on, experienced not only an increase in the number of groups, but an increase in membership from 2008-2016 as well.” https://www.operation250.org/right-wing-extremism
And…
“In Spain, a neo-fascist plotted the assassination of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and was arrested on November 8, 2018. The suspect reportedly wanted to take revenge for Mr. Sánchez’s plans to exhume the remains of the right-wing dictator Francisco Franco.
Only two days earlier, on November 6, six right-wing extremists were arrested in France for plotting to attack and kill President Emmanuel Macron.
Four days before, on November 2, a potential right-wing terrorist plot by two suspects was discovered in London.
In the United States of America, the Pittsburgh Tree of Life synagogue shooting on October 27, 2018 left eleven people dead and seven others wounded. It was carried out by an outspoken right-wing extremist, and classified as the deadliest act of anti-Semitic violence in U.S. history.”
and…
“From 2009 through 2018, right-wing extremists accounted for 73 percent of such killings, according to the ADL, compared with 23 percent for Islamists and 3 percent for left-wing extremists. In other words, most terrorist attacks in the United States, and most deaths from terrorist attacks, are caused by white extremists. But they do not cause the sort of nationwide panic that helped Trump win the 2016 election and helped the GOP expand its Senate majority in the midterms.”
and…
“I was shocked, but not surprised. On the contrary: I see the attack as the entirely predictable outcome of years of rising nativist, anti-immigrant, anti-Islam, anti-Semitic and white supremacist engagement globally. It was part of a pattern of attacks on houses of worship—following other attacks in a Canadian mosque, or in the United States in an African American church, a Jewish synagogue, and a Sikh temple. The scale of the attack was shocking, as was the fact that it was live-streamed. New Zealand would not have been the first place I’d suspect of being vulnerable to an attack like this—largely because it is known to be such a peaceful and multicultural place. But this violent fringe exists everywhere and no country is immune to it, especially now that radicalization can happen in large part on-line.”

I realize that some of these articles were written before Uranus went into Taurus, but these excerpts do give us the context for Uranus’ run through Taurus. In other words, it is going to get worse.
In this climate, Uranus will revolt, and in Taurus it will affect homes, possessions, stability for individuals, and personal income. Taurus here will encounter destruction instead of building, and with Pluto in Capricorn the destruction might be “burning it all to the ground, only to build from the ashes’.
I cannot over-emphasis the seriousness of Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn. These two were together in the run up to our own Revolutionary War, and the Reformation. Uranus is revolt against abuses of power, and Pluto in Capricorn is abuses of power. Do you see the conflict? Our world is in a tinder box both figuratively and literally. Between climate change and the abuses of power causing backlash and revolts, we are in for a wild ride through Taurus and beyond.
My advice is do not over extend financially. Pay off debt as fast as possible. Downsize commitments and possessions. Lighten your load because it’s going to become too heavy to carry. Re-evaluate what is really important to you, and divest yourself of anything that is not necessary.
Politically, it is a tough call for me to offer any advice. Establishment candidates could do very well, but Progressive candidates could do just as well. Establishment candidates could bring back some order that most people around the world would recognize as familiar and safe. Progressive Candidates could bring hope for the future to voters. The combination of both Pluto and Uranus in Earth signs makes it a difficult call even without all the political tricks that might interfere with the actual will of the people.
As a note, while I live in the United States, and am directing most of my remarks to conditions in the US, my comments aren’t limited to politics here in the US. This interpretation applies to all politics around the world. Brexit will continue to be a mess, Civil Wars will continue, The far Right will continue to gain support, as will the opposition. The conflicts between these two planets can be seen all over the globe. One trying to maintain power and the other trying to tear it down.
